Abstract

|
Connective tissue diseases are of considerable importance in ophthalmology since almost all of them frequently present ocular manifestations. Very often, ocular involvements are seen in the various tissues of the cornea, sclera, uvea, and- even the retina.
The most commonly seen collagen diseases, heritable disorders of the connective tissue, and other connective tissue diseases with the description of their ocular manifestations are briefly reviewed. In addition, auto-immunity as the causative factor of connective diseases is discussed.
